0251 Irrigation Works Operation

Class code 0251 is used for employees that work in irrigation operations, including drivers. This classification includes both operational and maintenance work for drainage systems and/or canals which are operated in order to supply water to farms or drain excess water from low-lying land areas. Job responsibilities include various tasks, including things such as cleaning of main and lateral flow lines, maintenance of pumps, control gate operations, cleaning of ditches, and spreading or spraying of oils for mosquito control. Operations within class code 0251 may provide services to individuals as well as members of a cooperative.

Exclusions from this classification would be any and all farm workers who are not exclusively engaged in irrigation operations, as well as those employees that perform irrigation system construction.
