0153 – Lawn Or Shrub Spraying

Class code 0153 is used for employees that engage in the spraying of lawns and shrubs for both commercial and residential customers, as well as drivers that transport certain chemical sprays. This class code should be used specifically for those using chemicals with similar toxicity levels to Ethion, DDT, Tersan, Sevin, Aspin, or Diazinon. Employees using chemicals on the same level as Trithion, TEPP, Parathion, and Endrin, or a combination of chemical classes would be excluded.

0153 is also appropriate to use for employees who spray low toxicity chemicals in an attempt to control algae, grass, brush, and aquatic weeds as part of water environment management. Jobs related to the monitoring of oxygen and bacterial levels and the operation of lake aeration systems to keep water attractive and clean should also be included.
